Tuesday Trainer Stuff

Session with John this morning. I got to do Bosu Surfing! Put the Bosu flat side up inside the square base of the stair step. Then stand on it with both feet. This was super hard, you can not hold it steady, the goal is just to keep correcting it. There’s an image here http://bit.ly/sFE4V1 (the lower you are squatting, the easier it is, I had to do 5 squats). 

Then I did lots of balance on one leg on the flat and round side of the of the Bosu, and John was impressed at my balance. He said based on how strong my joints are he is shocked I ever had knee issues - that those are definitely caused by overdoing it on mileage. 

Also did some crazy treadmill thing where I put my hands on the ground in front of the treadmill in a pushup position and feet on the belt and walked like that. Also, fucking wallsits, v-sits, pushup… I asked him if he was trying to kill me. But then as we did some lying leg curls and hip abductions I was able to rest a bit and felt pretty good. The goal today was relief for my hamstring, which seems to not be getting any better…

Oh yeah, and then the words no runner wants to hear: NO RUNNING this week. I can do elliptical, spin, incline walking, core, upper body, but no running. But you know, I’m not even mad about it. I know I can get the same benefits, cardio-wise… so I’m just going to have to make the most of it!
