I tried something new today! There is a group in Milwaukee that does “Pain in the Park” and I joined them this morning! It’s a superfun group of people!
We started out with an indian run through the park. We run in a line ad the first person set the pace and held the medicine ball and tossed it to the person who sprinted to the front. A couple of ambitious leaders took us up some hills. Great warmup!
Next we did a circuit with a partner. It was the “animal instinct” circuit, with crab crawls, bear crawls, partner pushups and high five pushups, and the dead cockroach (basically bicycles).
Next up we went to the playground and each team came up with an exercise on the equipment. Everyone got really creative and the exercises were challenging!
After that circuit we did a core training circuit, with each team demonstrating a core workout that they came up with. I was really thankful to have lots of unique exercises to share from working with John!
We ended with a suicide run, which is basically a football drill where you run out and back, going further each time as you touch down at the line. I felt good during this, I almost kept up with the guys!
At the end the group made a pyramid. How fun is that?!
I am definitely going next week. This group mixes it up and keeps it fun so you can join at any fitness level. They plan to work out through the winter so I’m really excited about seeing how creative we can get.
